I am and humbled and elated to be elected as the 9th Pastor of First Baptist Church,Lauderdale. When I received the call at 1:57 p.m. in February from V. Lynn Evans, it was more than just a dream come true, it was the Holy Spirit ordering my steps in alignment with his divine purpose and plan for my life.
I have had the pleasure of warm welcomes and greetings from the moment I stepped into the Congregation. Linda Brown Williams introduced me to the South City community and Deacon Renfro, Deacon Isaac White, and Deacon “Smiley” Miles. Clearing the path for a new direction, our Trustees: Jerome Franklin, Gerald Green, Angela Jackson, and Laurie Lockard made sure I was well-informed of the resources available. In addition, Troas and Brother Anthony Cleveland shared many historic moments about the congregation. The entire congregation’s love and support is just overwhelming!
We had several events in the last few months: Vacation Bible School, the 2024 Women’s Conference, Roaring for Jesus Children’s recital, a Retirement
Celebration of our 8th Pastor Chester Berryhill, and the unforgettable installation
of yours truly!!!!
I am excited about what God has in store for us. Together with First Baptist Church, Lauderdale, we will increase the Christ footprint in the crossroads of the mid-south building the mind, soul, and body through Faith, Love, and Charity.
